 May 18, 2004 Hui Laulima O Hana, first community dialysis meeting held at the old school cafeteria. A total of 60+ people showed up. Guest speaker, Dr. Steven Moser (Nephrologist) speaks out on the importance of having dialysis treatment available to his patients living in Hana. He witnessed the grueling trips patients from Hana endure 3x a week to and from dialysis, taking a toll on their health and quality of life. Dr. Steven Moser was an asset to Hui Laulima O Hana, and the role he played was truly what Aloha is all about.
July 22, 2004 The Governor's Maui advisory council comes to the community of Hana. Dialysis receives support from public testimonies and the advisory council. A meeting where the council recommended the Hana Community Health Center (now known as Hana Health) to be more opened and to work with the community were unsuccessful.
March 13, 2005 The sudden death of Dr. Steven Moser, shocks the entire island! A great loss of a dear and beloved friend, ohana, and member of Hui Laulima O Hana, saddens many within the community of Hana.
*Hui Laulima continues the journey of bringing dialysis home to Hana, in memory of Dr. Steven Moser, and loved ones who passed on. Meeting its challenges head on, HLOH gains tremendous support to their plight.

January 9, 2009 "Great News Today" The Department of Land and Natural Resources Land Division Board this morning on Oahu, unanimously announced its support and approval to cancel the existing executive order 309 language, from a county physician home, to reset aside the property situated in Wakiu, Hana, to be used for health and safety programs, and leased by Hui Laulima O Hana, where residents of Hana, will soon be able to end the long trips to dialysis treatments. A wonderful blessing to starting the 2009 new year. Mahalo Plenty to the DLNR Team, especially our Maui Representatives Daniel Ornellas, for placing the Hana Dialysis as a priority on the agenda and for his support. Mahalo to Jerry Edlao and the entire group for their tremendous support to the people of Hana. A big mahalo to Councilman Medeiros, Stan Zitnik for traveling to Oahu to testify in support of the Hana Dialysis, and to everyone who sent in their written testimonies, you guys are awesome! Mahalo!

The blessing and ceremony of Hale Pomaika'i / Hana's community dialysis home turned out a huge success. Many from far and near came out to feel, see, and experience the true meaning of aloha, as dialysis has finally come home to Hana. Governor Linda Lingle, Mayor Charmaine Tavares, Councilman Bill Medeiros, Governor's Maui Liaison, George Kaya, and Chair and Project Director for the Hana Dialysis Mrs. Madge Schaefer and her husband Bruce, Liberty Dialysis Jane Gibbons, and Melissa Souza all attended along with more than 250 people.
The wonderful Kitchen Crew, "Na Kia' O Ke Kula O Hana" Custodial Dept. of Hana School, did a fantastic job in setting up, preparing the food, and taking charge of the food line, were assisted by volunteers from the community, families and friends. Opihi, crab, and poke, were gathered and prepared by Andrew Park Sr. and Jr. Many came out to donate their time, food and money. Such a blessed moment to see those who never onced believed in Hui laulima O Hana's plight, or supported dialysis for the kupuna in Hana, also came to share in this first of its kind, in the nation, communal dialysis home.
